Rose-Marie Ferguson, 47, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at her parents’ home with her family at her side, after an eighteen-month battle with gastric cancer.

She was born in Gloversville on November 13, 1973 a daughter to Edward Rife and Rose Ann Dwyer and attended school in Johnstown.

Rose later completed a cosmetology program and was a licensed beautician. She also pursued a career in healthcare, working as a CNA while taking courses at FMCC to become a registered nurse.

Rose was an incredibly special, caring, and compassionate person. She was well known for her hilarious sense of humor and the way she loved and valued her family. Anyone that ever knew Rose knew what a joy she was to be around and the way she could light up a room with her infectious smile. Rose enjoyed traveling with her companion, Doug, and taking trips with her dear Aunt Terri. Above all else, her greatest joy was being a mother and a Granny. Rose most certainly lived a life full of love.

She was predeceased by her father, a brother-in-law, Brian Shanahan, her beloved aunt and uncle, Sandra and Ira Cromling, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include her two children, whom she loved immensely, Sandra Ferguson (Nick) and Timothy Ferguson, Jr., her precious and adored granddaughter, Violet, all of Broadalbin; her companion, Douglas Grimaldi of Frankfort; her parents, Rose Ann Dwyer and Anthony Polenski of Gloversville; three brothers, Bill Dwyer (Sarah) of Johnstown, Michael (Melissa) Dwyer of Mayfield, and Melvin Rife of Esperance; three sisters, Ruth Ann Shanahan of Broadalbin, Katrina Rife of Amsterdam, and Traci Polenski of Gloversville; nieces and nephews, Courtney, Sean, Benji, Ashlee, Meghan, Kendra, Brandon, and Andria; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and-nephews; special kids in her life, Brooklyn, Alex, Jack, Nicholas, Isabelle, and Matthew; her dear Cromling cousins whom she loved and thought of as siblings, Ira (Kathy) Cromling, Jr., Patrick (Trudi) Cromling, Albert (Pam) Cromling, Heidi (Jack) Hunt, and Muriel (Don) May; her friend and father to her children, Timothy Ferguson, Sr.; and an abundance of supportive and caring friends.

Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
