Barry Glenn Simmons, 79, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on January 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on October 2, 1941 in Omaha, NE to his parents, Robert L. and Ruth L. Simmons.
He married Nancy Jean Lassiter on October 12, 1963 in Raytown, MO. He was employed by Harrah’s Casino and worked there as a Dealer. He worked at Harrah’s for 10 years and retired in 2004. Barry enjoyed the KC Chiefs and the KC Royals, but his PASSION was GOLF.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Simmons; mother, Ruth L. (Enquist) Simmons; and brother, Gary D. Simmons.
Barry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy J. Simmons of Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter, Shari S. (Simmons) Rogers of Bates City, Missouri; son, Cary Simmons of Blue Springs, Missouri; daughter Jill L. (Simmons) and Larry Wilkinson of Bates City, Missouri; five grandchildren: Cameron T. Rogers (Brittany Edmonsond) of Oak Grove, Mo: Andrew T. Wilkinson and Wesley J. Wilkinson of Bates City, Missouri: Emily P. and Erin K. Simmons of Spring Hill, Kansas; and two great grandsons, Jaydon and Jordan Rogers of Oak Grove, Missouri.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64133.
