He married RHODA EMILY CAUDILL, daughter of ABEL CAUDILL and MARY ANN "POLLY" CRACE, March 26, 1885 in Salyersville, Magoffin County, Kentucky. She was born March 30, 1860 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, died November 14, 1932 in Salyersville, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and is buried in Able Caudill Cemetery in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky.
Notes: According to his death certificate, John W. Conley died from skin cancer on his left hand. Also on this certificate, his marital status is listed as widowed, his wife as Rhoda E.
