Mr. William E. "PeeWee" Simmons, 81, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

The family will hold a private service at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

Mr. Simmons was born January 28, 1939 in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Rube Simmons and Bertha Sanders Simmons.

He owned and operated Midway Shell Gas Station in Columbus, GA for over 26 years. After retirement, he worked with Vance Memorial Chapel and Vance Brooks Funeral Home for 20 years. Mr. Simmons was former member of Sunderland Baptist Church and a present member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming and gospel singing but loved his dogs and most of all, his wife Tina.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Duty and Nealie Scott; two brothers, Malon Simmons and Rutledge Simmons.

He is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Tina Simmons of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Wallace Simmons and wife Margaret of Columbus, GA; extended family.
