Robert Lee "Bob" Bumgardner, 87, passed away at 11:10 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at his home in Dow, Illinois.

He was born on September 27, 1933 in Woodstock, Virginia and was the son of the late Raymond and Katherine (Funk) Bumgardner.

He married Thelma Reef on July 10, 1971 and together they shared in 48 years of marriage, prior to her death on January 7, 2020.

Bob was a Korean War Veteran, serving our country honorably with the United States Navy.

He dedicated his life to his providing for his family, working in Civil Service Intelligence for over 42 years.

Surviving are four children, Richard Verble of Long Beach, Mississippi; Debra Bryson of Dow, Illinois; Juanita "Rita" Knight of Jamestown, Tennessee and Charles Verble of San Diego, California; along with 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a brother, Franklin Bumgardner and a nephew, Chris Bumgardner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Per his wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and no services are planned at this time.
