He was born March 6,1952 in Jamestown, Tennessee to Sam and Lucy (Patton) Abbott.
On July 13, 1977 he married Mable “Susie” Carroll in Jamestown.
She survives along with three children, Cassey Abbott Carroll and Darrin Abbott, both of Goshen and Shannon Abbott Kaho of Linton; seven grandchildren; a great grandchild with another on the way; and a sister, Lou Moore of Morehead, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dick and Charlie Abbott, Rosie Hunley, Bessie Haynes and Mertie Hancock.
Mr. Abbott retired from Goshen Stamping after 42 years of service. He loved old cars, guns and knives.
Visitation will be Monday, January 18, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 until the 10 a.m. service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
