He was a retired foreman from Roanoke Electric Steel.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Ruth Hartberger, Lynchburg, Robert and Mildred Hartberger, Montvale, Ray and Alice Hartberger, Buchanan; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Ralph Lovern, Montvale; ten grandchildren; three brothers, James L. Hartberger, Blue Ridge, Roy E. Hartberger, Buchanan, Daniel R. Hartberger, Roanoke.
Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, with the Rev. Frank W. Feather officiating. Burial will be in the Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
