Robert "Vernon" Stanley, 45, of Westlake, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was born on June 3, 1975 in Sulphur, LA. Vernon loved boating, football, and being the life of the party. Vernon loved DeQuincy and his family and friends with all of his heart. He loved big and lived large; always ready for the next adventure. He was known for his captivating smile, great hugs, and was capable of making anyone laugh. Vernon would give the shirt off of his back and would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone, no matter the consequences. He was an industrial worker, with the nickname "Verno the Inferno", had many different trades, and made lifelong friends throughout his career. Vernon could do just about anything he set his mind to; a jack of all trades. The greatest joy of his life was his wife, sons, siblings, family, and his pets, whom he loved with everything he had.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deanette Franks Stanley of Westlake; two sons, Donald Cade Elveston of Lake Charles, Kane Rober Stanley of Westlake, who was Vernon's pride and joy; his parents, Oran Glenn Stanley and wife Cherise of Singer, Brenda Bretz of Willcox, AZ; grandparents, Ray and Toni Chastain of Willcox, AZ, four brothers, Phillip Stanley and wife Sarah of Murrieta, CA, Anthony Stanley of Los Angeles, CA, Ronnie Stanley and wife D'Nea of Westlake, Jarod Perkins of Singer; two sisters, Heather Stampley and husband Jeff of DeQuincy, and Tessa Buxton of Singer.

Vernon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronald and Marjorie Doyle, Vernon Stanley, and Robert Bretz.

Visitation will be at at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 9:00am until a short prayer service at 10:30am.
