On January 10, 2021, the lord called Jean home at the age of 82 while in the care of Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.

Jean was born to John Beverly McCracken and Lillian Mae (Lillard) McIntosh in Washington D.C. She grew up on the family farm in Brightwood, VA until the age of 8 when she went to North West D.C. with her mother and step-father Walter Calvin McIntosh. She loved when Walter would take her dancing! In 1956, she graduated from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. That same year, she married Eugene "Butch" Douglas Denny. Together, they had a son named Douglas. Later she would marry Clarence Lane and they would have 3 more children; Russell, Pamela, and Theresa. She would find companionship with Kent Sullivan and were together for 25 years.

She bought her first home in 1958. She was a life-long resident in Manassas Park. In 1966, Jean became the very first woman-owned car dealer in the state of Virginia! Her business, Lane's Motor Sales included sales, service, and repair. She absolutely loved old American muscle! Fast, good looking cars made her grin from ear to ear. After her business closed she began a thrift store on her property in Haymarket, VA. Toys and kids items were among her main inventory. Many local people knew her as "the toy lady". Everyone loved to go visit her and see things she had available for their kids. She was a devoted Christian woman. Family was of utmost importance to her. The grand and great-grandbabies always left with a big ol' lipstick print on their cheek or forehead. She had a few friends who she held very dear to her heart. She was a huge animal lover, especially the little ones. Her favorite colors, vibrant pink and purple, were the core colors in her wardrobe. She was gentle, loving, and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

She is survived by her siblings; John B. (J.B.) McCracken, Jr. and wife Mary, M. Linda Lane and husband George, Susan Gail Musick and husband Jay, and Lisa Kay Martin and husband Tony; her four children, Doug Denny, Rusty and wife Patti Lane , Pam and her husband Jerry Basch and Theresa Hough and her husband Ed; eight grandchildren, Cheryl and husband Travis Rivers, Russell Lane Jr, David and wife Nikole Basch, Nicole McDaniel, Jennifer and husband Joseph Miller, Joe Thompson, Nick and wife Stacie Hough, and Krystal and husband Jason Pritchett; her 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Walter McIntosh, John McCracken, Lillian McIntosh, and David L. McCracken.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a 12:00 noon service to follow officiated by Pastor Greg Hackett at Clore-English Funeral Home located at 11190 James Monroe Hwy, Culpeper, VA 22701.

Interment will take place at Bethsaida United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1014 Ridgeview Rd. Brightwood, VA 22715 immediately following the service. We ask for all to respect the current COVID-19 restrictions and for those in attendance to, please, wear a mask and surround the family at a distance.
