ELIZABETH'S OBITUARY
Elizabeth Myrtle “Sis” “Sissy” Barr, age 88 of Rig Road, Moorefield, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to join many other family members Thursday morning, January 14, 2021. The oldest daughter of Charles Brooke “Todd” Bensenhaver and Eula Virginia Halterman Bensenhaver, Sis was born on December 8, 1932 in Hardy County, WV. On April 12, 1952 she married James Clifford “Jim” Barr who preceded her in death on June 30, 2003. A brother, Doug Bensenhaver, a sister, Mary V. Hines and a great-grandson, David Tadeu Migon Stockler also preceded her in death.

She attended school at Rig and graduated from Moorefield High school in 1951. She was a faithful member of the Oakdale Christian Church at Rig. Sis was a homemaker and a fabulous cook. She worked for over 20 years as a cook, first at Rig School, then later at Moorefield Elementary School. Sis was a loving mother and grandmother and more than anything the family will miss the prayers she offered on their behalf daily.

Surviving is three children, Julie (Kenny) Shobe, Jeanne (Dave) Workman & Rodney (Tina) Barr all of Fisher, WV; five grandchildren JuliAnn(Brian) Branson, Ethan Shobe, Dr. Jenna (Rick) Stockler, Brandon Barr and Jacy Barr; six great-grandchildren, Makinley Branson, Brantley Shobe, Delaney Shobe, Bronson Shobe, Gabriella Stockler and Olivia Stockler; three step-grandsons, Kevin (Desiree) Conners, Jeremy (Erin) Conners & Ryan Conners; five step-great-grandchildren Mariana Stockler, Kaile Johnson, Tegan Johnson, Blake Conners and Evelynn Conners.

Also surviving are seven siblings, Charles “Bud” Bensenhaver, Donnie Bensenhaver, Clyde “Gus” Bensenhaver, Dr. Dewey Bensenhaver, Patsy Riggleman, Nancy Brecher and Helen Rohrbaugh along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Newhouse Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiant. Interment will follow. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be required at the cemetery at all times.

Memorials may be directed to the Oakdale Christian Church Mission Fund, 3989 Rig Road, Moorefield, WV 26836. The family also wants to thank Dr. Bensenhaver and his staff for the wonderful care she received over the years as well as the doctors and nurses at Ruby Memorial Hospital and Grant Memorial Hospice for their support these last few days.
