Mrs. Josephine McCaa Shiffer, former resident of Hudson, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Tonkin, Waverly, N. Y., where she resided. She was 88 years of age.
Mrs. Shiffer was the widow of the late George H. Shiffer of Hudson where they lived for many years. She went to Waverly 37 years ago.
Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Nettie Hughes, Luzerne; Mrs. Alice Evans, city; Mrs. Robert Newsome, Coffein, Ill.; Mrs. George Critchlow, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Tonkin, Waverly; Mrs. A. F. Garberding, Grand Rapids, Minn.; Mrs. D. W. Crawford, Scranton; Mrs. Myron Handrick, Waverly.
Services will be held Thursday evening at 7 o'clock at the Kolb Funeral Home in Waverly. Interment will be in the Forty Fort Cemetery, Friday morning at 11.
