December 22, 2008 Eugene P. Burch, 68, of Fulton, died suddenly Monday at home. A native of Lysander, Gene resided in the Volney-Fulton area most of his life. He owned and operated Joice & Burch, Inc., Retail Kitchen and Bath and real estate properties. Gene was a longtime member of the Fulton Lions Club; Fulton Polish Home; Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1280, Fulton; Hiram Lodge 144 F&AM; the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Volney Volunteer Fire Department. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing trips and traveling.

Surviving are his companion, Jill Stoughton of Fulton; three daughters, Rebecca Burch of Phoenix, Kim Burch of Osceola and Renee (Mike) Doney of Fulton; a brother, Richard (Betty) Burch of Fulton; two grandchildren, Hillary Hewitt and Michael Doney; two great-grand-children, Quinn-Tessa and Bella; his extended family, Jeff, Susan and Shelley and their families; former wife, Ruby Whitten; and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, December 26, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton, with services to immediately follow at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gift contributions may be made to the Fulton Lions Club, c/o Steve Chirello, 121 South First Street, Fulton, NY 13069.
