Mr. Eddie Kilby, age 72 of Dobson, formerly of Hays passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Keith Honeycutt officiating and Mr. Steve Casey special speaker. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 3:00 PM Saturday at 2416 Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro. The public may pay their respects to Mr. Kilby from 12:00 until 5:00 PM Saturday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mr. Kilby was born March 28, 1948 in Wilkes County to Gaither Thomas and Ella Shumate Kilby. Eddie was an animal lover, knife collector, he loved camping, riding his “speed buggy”, sight seeing and riding with the joy of his life Renee and his “Little Boy”.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons; Jonathan Kilby and Lee Edward Kilby, three sisters; Betty Joe Cleary, Nancy Sprinkle, Margie Teague and a brother; Thomas Gaither Kilby.

He is survived by his fiancé of 12 years; Renee Mendenhall, a son; Blake Edward Kilby; grandson; Joshua Lee Kilby, a sister; Carol Elledge of Wilkesboro, two brothers; Roy Lee Kilby and wife Marlene and Mason Kilby and wife Rachel all of Ronda. A special niece; Darlene “Little Bit” the one that was always there when needed, special friend; Dwight Brown and Delores Kilby Trivette and second mom; Vergie Mendelhall, several nieces and nephews and fur baby; Killer.
