Paul William Woods, age 74, died at home in Jacksonville, FL on New Year’s Eve. Always one to make an entrance, his exit was no exception. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend Debra Kay Woods who selflessly cared for her husband with tireless dedication and devotion.
Paul was born in Louisa, KY to Easter Roberts Woods and Lawrence Paul Woods. He spent his early life as a cattle farmer in Mount Sterling, OH. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, he moved to Ashland, KY where he worked as a trustee for a Woods family bank before becoming a Realtor/ Broker, which was his profession and passion until his retirement. He was a patriot who loved God, country, and liberty. Paul proudly served his country as an Air Force reservist during the Vietnam War, was a past master of Solomon Lodge No. 20, a member of the Scottish Rite and First Presbyterian Church. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan and a lover of aviation as he held a private pilot’s license for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Barrett Bumgarner (Woods) and brother James L. Woods. Paul is survived by his wife Debra K. Woods (Jacksonville, FL), brother Donald P. Woods (Columbus, OH), daughter Alexis Marilyn Woods (Sandy Springs, SC), stepdaughter Angela K. Burrows-Leon, and step granddaughters Danielle Burrows (Jacksonville, FL), Amanda Bohrer (Simpsonville, SC), and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Solomon Lodge No. 20, 25 E. 1st Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Virtual options will be shared once available. Interment will be held at a later date in Madison Mills, OH.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32211.
