Mr. Eugene Talmadge Jackson, age 89 of Crump Creek Road, Blairsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 12, 2021 in The Gardens of Rome Senior Living of Rome, GA. Eugene was born on May 18, 1931 in Blairsville, GA., son of the late Claude E. Jackson & Rusha Lovell. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Eugene loved the great outdoors; he always enjoyed camping, gardening, hunting and hiking. Eugene retired from International Paper Co. in Rome, GA, after 38 years of employment. He also loved living in the mountains & enjoying their beauty. Eugene is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lola Vivian Brock Jackson, 4 brothers, Arlen Jackson, Farrell Jackson, Wilmer Jackson and Claude Jackson, Jr., a sister Willene Rich and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Brock. He was a member of Mt. Grace Baptist Church of Hayesville, NC.

Survivors include one son; Renae Brock of Rome, GA., two sisters; Clara Mote of Cartersville, Eloise Sexton of Blairsville, four grandchildren; Tammy Gaines of Rome; Dean Clemmer, Jeannie Marie Mohler, Kim Mohler, 6 great grandchildren; Aidan Gaines, Emma, Julia, Chase, Will, and Tristan Mohler. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored.

A small, private Graveside service for family will be held at Mountain Grace Baptist Church Cemetery of Hayesville, NC., (1345 McDonald Road Hayesville, NC 28904) with Rev. Denny Moss officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Mountain Grace Baptist Church in Eugene’s memory.
