Frances Susan Brown (Minor) 86 of Avondale, affectionately known as “Nancy”, beloved wife, mother, grand-mother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020.

She was the wife of the late Harold K. Brown with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Nancy was born in West Grove, PA on May 1, 1934, daughter of the late Abram and Susan (Lewis) Minor. Nancy received her early education in the Avon Grove School District and often reminisced about excelling in sports, especially volleyball while in school, reminding all that she was on a team that won the championship.

She was a lifetime, devoted, member of The Church of Christ, Kelton, PA, and loved her church family. She spent many years enjoying the Word of God and singing His praises in song. Her favorite song was “My Jesus, I Love Thee” and lived by the song phrase, “This world is not my own, I’m just passing through”. Nancy lovingly raised her six children and attended all their sporting events. She was her children’s biggest fan. She ultimately continued to raise her grandchildren until they attended school full time. She was proud of the fact that all of her children could read before going to school. She loved the outdoors, most importantly the fresh air, gardening, rehabbing homes and taking walks with her grandchildren. She would show them the beauty of nature. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart.

Nancy leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Wanda Brown-Rochester (Wendel) and Celeste Collazo both of Avondale, Pa and Gwendolyn Brown (Mike Gallimore Jr) of Coatesville, PA; son Aaron Brown (Sandra) of Newark, DE; grandchildren Duane, Kenneth II, and Nathan Brown, Jonathan and Matthew Tate; C. Monique Thompson and Mya Rochester; Orlando, Jaron and Keenan Collazo; Tyler Brown, Michael and Kya Gallimore; Gordon Brown and 10 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind siblings Corrine Walton and Ronald (Delores); sister-in-law Yvonne Goodwin and daughter-in-law Deborah Crutchfield Brown; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth E. and Gordon H. Brown; brothers J. Ernest, Earl and Philip; sisters Lydia Johnson, Teresa Jones, Iris Brown and Betty Bantum
