Obituary
Edgar Brown, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home in Longview, Texas surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 31, 1943 to John Edward and Mandy Pauline (St. Clair) Brown in Vernon, Texas.

Edgar married the love of his life Judy Marie Hudgens on June 15, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas and was devoted to her until her death in 2016. He moved his family to Longview in 1968 where he owned his own business and worked as a Masonry Contractor until his retirement.

He was a kind, patient, loving man with a giving heart and was loved by everyone he met. He loved his family and put them before himself and enjoyed being with them more than anything else.

Edgar was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, brothers Curtis Ray “Pete”, Leroy and Bobby Joe and sisters Clara Mae White, Thelma Ann McCleskey and infant twins Fannie and Annie Brown. He is also preceded in death by granddaughter Shawna Dakota Robertson.

He is survived by his son and wife Todd and Sheila of Longview, Daughter and husband Debbie and Mark Dauster of Longview, Granddaughters Whitney Harris and her husband Mike of Murfreesboro, TN. Samantha Thompson and her husband Anthony of Longview and Kayla Yoho of Longview. Grandson Nicholas McClung of Tyler. Great granddaughters Savannah Brown-Grider and Olivia Thompson. Great grandsons Alex Harris, Perrin Harris, Elijah Thompson and Noah Thompson (due to make his arrival in January). Brother Ed and his wife Donna of Graham and sisters Jean Brock of Amarillo and Linda and husband Lewis Poarch of Hereford. Brother in Law Fred White of Houston and his wife’s siblings Karl and Dottie Hudgens of Lubbock, Sharon and Ed Luther of Emory and Rick and Melanie Hudgens of Seabrook and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Memorial service will be held at a later date and he will be buried alongside his wife in Rosewood Cemetery.
