Dorothy Hubbard Patterson, 79, of Renfroe,GA passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, 104 Mt. Olive Street, Cusseta, Georgia 31805 with the Rev. Mark Hudson officiating. Interment will be held at Liberty Hill Cemetery immediately. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Boulevard, Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Mrs. Patterson was born in 1941, the daughter of Trummer and Ethel (Smoot) Hubbard. She was a graduate of Hogansville High School and Perry Business School. A resident of Chattahoochee County most of her life, she worked for the Chattahoochee County Board of Education for over thirty years. As a long standing member of the First Baptist Church of Cusseta, she enjoyed attending Sunday School, supporting the Women’s Missionary Union and singing along with the choir. She was a loving wife and doting Grandmother, leaving many legacies and beautiful memories. We will fondly remember her effortless grace, her southern hospitality and her passion for family. She showered those she loved with blessings from her kitchen and took great pride in serving her Lord by supporting her local food bank. To her, cooking with love provided food for the soul. Enjoy a meal in her honor soon - especially dessert. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, her devoted husband of 52 years, her sister in law and her sister in law’s husband.

Survivors include her children, Kelli Patterson Icard (Ron) of Woodstock, GA, Charles David Patterson (Susan) of Hamilton, GA, and Daniel Brewer Patterson (Tiffany) of Renfroe, GA: her grandchildren that she loved dearly, Austin Icard, Logan Icard, Lindsey Patterson, Megan Patterson, Jackson Patterson and Caroline Patterson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the Fischer Center for Alzheimer’s Research (www.alzinfo.org) or to the First Baptist Church of Cusseta (address above).
