Anne's nephew writes that she "was extraordinarily generous and a wonderful host," and that she "read a book or two every day, sometimes three books. Many of my favorite books were recommended or given by her." In recent years her tastes were immersed in steampunk. A niece adds that Anne "was the historian extraordinaire for our family," and thanks her "for keeping the memories back and back for generations of our family alive, and for all of the kindness and support you showed us throughout your life." Her brother-in-law says she was a close friend for 57 years, since high school, starting with her family's road trips to see relatives in Minnesota. The KRL director writes that "Anne led her department with a big heart and appreciated her employees with empathy and kindness" and more recently helped the Puget Sound Genealogical Society to merge their collection into the library's.
Anne was preceded in death by her father, John R. Ross; her mother, Alice C. (Sevick) Ross; and her sister, Jeannine R. (Ross) Boyer. She is survived by her brother-in-law, David L. Boyer (Minnesota); a nephew, John R. Boyer (Wisconsin) and his family; nieces Kathryne M. Richards (Minnesota) and Emily R. Benedict (Oregon); as well as cousins in Minnesota, California and Norway. Anne kept touch with everyone and always opened her home.
Anne's ashes will join her parents at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the help of Lewis Chapel, in the presence of close friends and family, who also plan a Zoom memorial to swap memories. Following her wishes, we suggest memorials to the Salvation Army of Kitsap County.
