Helen Kathleen Sparks Wood, age 76, of Roaring River, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 27, 1944 in Wilkes County to Hillard Hilton and Tabatha Viola Morrison Sparks. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Deborah Gail Wood, Melissa Renee Wood; and sister, Virginia Dare Sparks Byrd.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Gilman of Orlando, Florida; son, Darrell Wood and spouse Kim of Mocksville; grandchildren, Shane Sizemore of North Wilkesboro, Jonathan Sizemore of Roaring River, Jackalyn Howell and spouse Joey, Chad Gilman, Chelsea Diaz and spouse Damian all of Orlando, Florida, Christopher Wood of Mooresville, Zachary Wood of Mocksville, great grandchildren, Conner Sizemore, Kara Sizemore, Jacob Sizemore, Breanna Sizemore, Koltyn Sizemore, Brookleigh Sizemore, Michael Sizemore all of North Wilkesboro, Joey Howell, Kaley Howell, Madison Howell, Jack Diaz, Rylee Gilman and Liberty Sizemore all of Orlando, Florida.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at White Plains Baptist Church with Rev. William Souther officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. T
The family receive friends at White Plains Baptist Church from 1:00 until 2:00 on Friday, prior to the service.
