Jeffrey Scott Dean, 54, of Kosciusko went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 13, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday January 15, 2021 at 12:00 at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. All are welcome to attend. We do ask that everyone please observe social distancing and wear a mask.
Jeffrey was born February 20, 1966, in Kosciusko where he remained a lifelong resident. He was an active member of Williamsville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of the building committee. He worked as a selfless advocate for his community, his employees, his friends and family but above all Christ. Jeffrey was all heart and served many people in different areas. A son, a husband, a daddy, a brother, a coach, a boss, a true friend; Jeffrey used these relationships as opportunities to love others.
As a fun-loving competitor regardless if he killed the biggest deer or picked the most peas, Jeffrey was never a seeker of recognition. As a coach, Jeffrey wasn’t all about winning. He swiftly gave credit to the boys and girls he coached and cared about each player on and off the field. He followed them as they advanced in their years, always taking up time with them when he saw them.
As owner of Century Heating and Cooling, Jeffrey knew the best way to build a great company was through meaningful relationships and great employees. He led by example showing his employees and colleagues alike the way to success was through hard work, honesty, fairness, and love of God and people.
As a daddy, he was always family first. Jeffrey carefully laid the plan for even the simplest get-togethers - delegating who would bring what and the time of the event. Summer time meant Smith Lake and Country Club time where he oversaw plenty of water fun. He enjoyed being the ski coach to all of his nieces and family friends and never pulled the rope in the boat until the sun went down. His focus encompassed his own children, Meredith and Clark – his true joy. Only Daddy’s Girl knew how to bake that favorite strawberry cake or rub his back just right after a long day at the shop. Clark could always feel his daddy’s pride from the ballpark or football field. It didn’t matter how many spectators cheered, just that daddy was there. Whether it was coaching Clark, sitting in the stands or volunteering on the sidelines, Jeffrey’s unwavering presence was felt by his son.
As a husband, his life was complete after reconnecting with his high school sweetheart, Audra. When Covid hit, Jeffrey and Audra looked for new ways to bring the family together. Social distancing on the 4th, front yard meetings, and outdoor games became common place for them. However, no one realized Audra was actually an angel in disguise...she would remain by his side during his very short battle with cancer. No one imagined such a happy time would be so brief. We give God the glory and praise Him for placing Jeffrey in our lives. Our friend, our go-to, our rock will be greatly missed but deserving of all the crowns that await him.
