Funeral services for Zelda Mae Henderson will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with Pastor Bob Seal officiating. Interment will follow in Willis Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Henderson was born on April 12, 1932 in Nacogdoches,Texas to William T. Reynolds and Lillian (Saunders) Reynolds. She passed-away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2021 at home in Conroe at the age of 88.
Zelda was a longtime (20 year) employee at the Log Cabin Restaurant in Humble, Texas and then went on to work for Eckerd Drugs for 15 years. Later in life, she worked as a CISD bus monitor for 15 years where she loved every one of the children she looked after. Zelda was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandmother. Zelda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who is loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Henderson; son, Tony Demopolis; granddaughters, Denise Whitley and Tari Henderson; her parents and her brothers and sisters.
Zelda is survived by her loving family: Sons, Donnie Henderson and wife, Nora and Tommy Henderson and wife, Marilyn; Daughters, Gail Cooper and husband, Larry, Nancy Zimmerman and husband, Mike, and Athena Demopolis; 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by other dear relatives and a host of caring friends.
