Donald Peter Schultz, 86, of North Platte, NE passed away on January 11, 2021 at North Platte Care Center.

He was born on March 11, 1934 at Ogden, Utah to Peter and Catherine Schultz and grew up in Ogden, UT.

Donald served in the United States Army from August 8, 1956 to July 25, 1958.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Broadhurst on January 25, 1956 at Ogden, UT where they lived in Pocatello, ID and settled in North Platte, NE. To this union 3 children were born.

Donald was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 65 years.

He loved model trains, coin collecting and could jury- rig just about anything and drinking Lincoln Highway Diner coffee while BS-ing with his buddies. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; Peter and Catherine Schultz; brothers, Roy and Pete Schultz; Wilma Schultz; son, Marc Schultz; son in law, John Hoaglund; and niece, Charlotte Schultz.

He is survived by his son, Eric (Ruth Janiszewski) Schultz; daughter, Monica Hoaglund; grandsons, Christopher (Tiffany) Hoaglund, Skyler (Crystal) Hoaglund, Morgan (Hannah) Hoaglund; grandchildren, Matthias, Izabella, Daryl and Jacqueline Hoaglund; and 1 niece and 2 nephews.

Services and burial of ashes will be at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
