Jackie Lee Messick Kidd

Jackie Lee Kidd, 85, of Westover, died Friday, January 1, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield January 6, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Messick and Hattie Marie Nelson Messick.

She was a homemaker and attended various churches in the area including Walker Memorial Church of God in Princess Anne. Jackie had a great love for animals.

She is survived by four children, Scott Sneade and Allen Kidd, both of Westover, Dwayne Kidd (Shannon) of Princess Anne, and Barbara Klempner (Joe) of Salisbury; her husband, Douglas MacArthur Kidd of Westover; two sisters, Jeanie Coggin of VA, and Hattie “Cookie” Newby of VA; a brother, Elmer “Mike” Messick of Salisbury; daughter-in-law, Melissa Messick of Virginia; 12 grandchilldren, Jody Messick (LeeAnn), Sherry Powers, Jessica Ryal (Justin), Perry Sneade, Jordan Sneade, Heather Russell, Jenna Kidd, Miranda Kidd, Douglas MacArthur Kidd, Courtney Kidd (Chris), Ashley Mason, and Amy Mason; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Perry Sneade, Jr. on November 22, 1969; two children, John Bruce Messick and Susan Marie Sneade; and five siblings, Jerry Messick, Ethel Travers, Beatrice Harris, William Messick, and John Riley Messick.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Danny Travers will be Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
