Born in Monmouth, Ill., on the Fourth of July in 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Florence (Leary) Mills. She was a graduate of St. Mary Academy in Navoo, Ill.

She was married to United States Air Force Colonel, Edward C. Hickey from July 4, 1964, until 1999 traveling the world as a supportive military wife and loving mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Frank "Uncle Cub" Laule.

A Memorial Service in Celebration of Kathleen's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 12 Noon at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
