We are sorry to announce the passing away of Wm. Henning, one of our most highly respected citizens, at his home southeast of Loraine Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. the cause of his death being pneumonia.
He was the son of John and Emma Henning and was born August 29, 1887 near Golden, but spent the greater part of his life on the farm where he resided at the time of his death and was known to every man, woman and child for miles around. His father preceded him in death a number of years, but his mother is left to mourn his passing.
Mr. Henning and Alice McClelland were united in marriage June 5, 1912.
To this union was born five children, three boys, Emery, Russell and Wilson and two daughters, Maxine and Pauline, all of whom with the devoted wife are left to bear life's burdens without a father's hand to guide. He also leaves two brothers, Ed, of Quincy, Oren of Galesburg and two sisters, Mrs. Noah Foltz of Loraine and Mrs. Edith Evans of Coatsburg.
Mr. Henning was a devoted member of the Christian church and was ever loyal to it and its institutions. He will be greatly missed by his community, his church and his friends, but over and above all by his family to whom he was a devoted son, companion and father.
The Times extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved in their hour of sorrow.
