Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at Hermosa Drive Church, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Walters, 81, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Artesia General Hospital.

Mrs. Walters was born January 24, 1926 in Loving, New Mexico; the daughter of Thomas Joseph Harrison and Jessie (Vachel) Harrison.

On Feb. 6, 1947 she was married to Herbert Odeal Walters in Roswell, N.M. She was a lifelong resident of the Artesia area. He preceded her in death July 13, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and three brothers.

She was an Administrative clerk for Mountain Bell Telephone Company before retiring then went on to work for PVT. Connie was a member of the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Telephone pioneers, RSVP, and a volunteer at the Church of Christ outreach center. She loved to cater to her husband and loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son Tom Walters and wife Marlo of Sedalia, Colorado; brothers Curtis Harrison of Artesia, and Glen Harrison of Las Cruces, N.M.; grandchildren Jennifer Walters of Seattle, Washington, Robin Goodrich and husband Lance of Artesia, Megan Walters of Denver, Colorado, Kelly Walters of Denver, and Andrew Walters of Ft. Collins, Colorado; great-grandchildren Tharen and Brogen Goodrich of Artesia.
