DAVID FLEMING David Francis Fleming, 61, of Chico passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on December 22, 2020, after a courageous ten-month battle with Glioblastoma. David was born on April 9, 1959 to Joan Fosberg and Edward Fleming in Pomona, California. He attended Capay School through the 8th grade and graduated from Hamilton City High School in 1977. David is one of ten siblings and the many stories and adventures from their childhood together were things that he loved to recount and share with a huge smile and endless laughter. When David was 17 he started working for Tom and Sue Dauterman at Thomas Welding and Machine in Chico, and thus began a lifelong career and eventual partnership. David was a true engineer, builder and teacher. He has been a mentor to countless high school and college students, who have worked for him over the years, and has formed lasting friendships through his work in the ag industry. David was able to take some amazing trips with great friends to visit farms and ag operations in places such as Chile, Argentina, Australia, Spain and Portugal. His greatest joy was his family, and his favorite days were spent on Lake Almanor, towing his kids, grandkids, and many of their friends and family behind the boat on skis and tubes, or going for a late afternoon sail with his three sons-in-law, for whom he had so much love and pride. He was an extremely devoted father, papa, brother and friend. His infectious smile and larger-than-life personality will be missed by so many. David is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Joan and Curtis Fosberg, his father Edward Fleming, and his brother Timothy Fleming. He is survived by his three daughters, Renee (Jimmy) Manhart of Williams, Erin (Lee) Heringer of Chico, and Monica (Nathan) Michaud of Willows. He absolutely adored his eight grandchildren- Caleb, Reagan, Natalie, Nolan, Lainie, Maggie, Holland and Morgan. David is also survived by Tom and Sue Dauterman, six brothers, two sisters, many loved nieces and nephews, and a wealth of extended family, friends and trusted employees who were like family to him. David will be laid to rest at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico, California. You may send the family condolences at www.brusiefh.com
