Beverly was a lifelong resident of Grant County and graduated from Marion High School in 1956. She married Lowell Sanders on July 14, 1957 in Central Christian Church, Marion. Mr. Sanders preceded her in death July 4, 2017. Throughout her lifetime Beverly worked many different jobs but being a homemaker was the most gratifying to her. Beverly enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family planning get togethers, cookouts and many celebrations. Her favorite place to eat was Penguin Point and she loved meeting friends and family there for meals.
She is survived by her children, Vickie Edwards, Indianapolis; Koletta (Reggie) Spencer, Tammy (Alan) Keith, Kitrina (John) Hunter, all of Gas City; brother, Charles Mathias, Chesterfield; grandchildren, Cristina Hewitt, Fairmount; Vanessa Carpenter, Kentucky; Brian Burton, Jonesboro; Corey Burton, Upland; Nathaniel (Amanda) Spencer, Texas; Tiffany (Michael) Hehe, Chance Hunter, Tyler Hunter, all of Gas City.
She is also preceded in death by brothers, Elester Mathias, Calvin Mathias, John Mathias, Gene Mathias; sister, Maxine Pierce.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana., with Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, Gas City, Indiana.
