Jason graduated from Mandeville High School in 1996 where he played on the Iron Curtain defense as Middle Linebacker for the Mandeville Skippers. He then went on to play football at Millsaps College for a short time then eventually transferring to Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) where he played for the SLU Rugby team and graduated with a degree in Sports Management. He was so thrilled to find a sport that he could do for longer than the college years and a sport that gave him life long friends. After college he played rugby for the New Orleans Rugby Club.

In 2007 he began his professional career working for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) St. Tammany as the very first Peer Support Specialist for youth at Southeast Hospital where he mentored many youth struggling with mental illness. In 2015 he went on to work as a Peer Liaison for Louisiana Health Care Connections and led a number of AA meetings in the community. In 2020 he earned an Executive MBA in Healthcare Management from Southeastern Louisiana University. He loved to fish, camp, spend time with his family and was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and absolutely loved live music and the band Tool.

Jason helped so many people in his life while at the same time having his own struggles with mental illness, addiction, as well as epilepsy. He was an empathetic person who deeply cared for his friends, family, and anyone that crossed his path. He had a special loving soul and was always searching for the deeper meaning to life and why we are all here on this earth.
