Leonard M. "Jake" Ramsey, 76, of Madison died Sunday, April 12, 1998, at home after a long illness. He was a retired miner from Westmoreland Coal Co. with 30 years of service, a member of the UMW, an Air Force veteran of World War II, owner of Ramsey Dairy Queen and L&G Video and Tanning Center, Danville, and was a member of Danville Church of Christ.

Surviving: wife, Gladys Ramsey; sons, Darnell and Barry of Danville; daughters, Drema Ison of Julian, Peggy Roberts of Anderson, S.C.; niece, Judy Tapley Hall of Madison; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with Evangelist Buster Miller and Evangelist Kenneth Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Madison. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
