Douglas Lee Brock, 54, Indianapolis, passed away January 12, 2021.

He was born October 29, 1966 in Columbus, IN.

Doug was raised in Kokomo, IN and graduated from Taylor High School in 1985, followed by Naval Technical School. Doug proudly served in the US Navy and Desert Storm. He wanted to be a Navy career man, however, Doug was honorably discharged in 1995 due to injury. He was a disabled American veteran.

In the Navy, Doug served on Destroyer DDG-88 USS Preble NAS Norfolk, VA. He was a Navy Fire Controlman and operated surface ship weapons on combatant ships. He received military ribbons consisting of Coast Guard SOS, Sea Service Deployment, Sea Service with Bronze Star, and the Navy “E” Ribbon, as well as medals, which included two Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service, Humanitarian, Kuwait Liberation, Navy Unit Commendation, Southwest Asia Service, and Coast Guard Special Operation Service.

Doug was a Senior Manager Sales Engineering at Kofax, Inc. where he worked for more than 13 years, until he took medical retirement in 2020. Doug enjoyed smoking meats, traveling to beach destinations, doing cycling classes and being with family and friends. In his marriage to Kim, he laughingly stated that he lived in a house divided, with Doug a Florida State fan and Kim a Notre Dame fan. Doug married Sunni Bogle and they divorced in 2007.

Doug will be remembered as a brilliant and kind man and a good leader who always did the right thing, as well as a loving husband and father. He always said, “Treat people the way you want to be treated.”

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Lambert-Brock; his daughter, Kady Pelgen (Cody); his sons, Kyle Brock and Cody Cochran (Amye); his step-daughter, Janiece Redini (Luke); his step-son, Garrett Gaston; his mother, Donna Marie Fletcher Brock-Taylor; his father and step-mother, Daniel Lee Brock and Linda Brock; his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff Brock and Teresa Brock; his grandchildren: Ember, Ren, Kaedence, and Baize; his niece, Stephanie Brock Bray (Jonathan “JJ”); and of course, Doug and Kim’s fur baby, “Coco”.

A celebration of life will be held at The Free Spirit, 6155 E. 86th Street, Suite B, Indianapolis.
