age 42, lost his second battle with cancer on January 7, 2021. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 13, 1978 to David and Cynthia Young. Jason is survived by his parents; his sisters, Jennifer, his nephew, Alfonzo "Fonzie" Ramirez, Cynthia "Tess", Mary, and his brother, Jim; his niece, Mckayla, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason worked as a deputy for the Summit County Sherriff's Department and then a corrections officer for the Cuyahoga County Sherriff's Department. Jason also worked for the Red Cross. He was always kind to others and was a protector from birth to his little sisters, his friends, nature, and anyone who needed it. So, it was natural that every stage of his career included protecting others or helping them in some way. Jason was an avid gardener and canner. He loved learning about history and his ancestry. Visitation will be held Monday, January 11 from 4 to 7 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow. Funeral will be Tuesday, January 12 at 11 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Due to current pandemic orders, please be symptom-free and wear a face mask. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
