Gary Fulton Cox, age 72 of the Pleasant Hill Community in Whiteville, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC, following a recent illness.
Gary was born on August 25, 1948 in Columbus County, to the late Etheridge Fulton Cox and Vera Ward Cox. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Junior Cox and Gerald Cox.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Buddy Seay officiating.
Gary was a faithful member of Beaverdam Original Free Will Baptist Church and worked for over 40 years at International Paper; He also served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Jeanette Buffkin Cox of the home; one son, Bengie Cox and wife, Lisa, of Chadbourn; siblings: Robert Cox of Leland, Pat Sellers of Whiteville, Dianne Shelley of Chadbourn, and Alice Cox of Whiteville.
