Born February 9, 1933, he was the son of the late Hilry and Lucile Fleshman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his first wife Rose Cunningham Fleshman, a son, Anthony Fleshman Sr., a stepsons, Kevin Mason and Theodore Mason Jr., sister, Barbara Eldridge, brother, Bernard Fleshman, grandsons Brian D. Fleshman and Mickey D. Fleshman.
Maynard served in the U.S. Army and was a proud third generation railroader, having worked for Northfolk and Southern Railroad before his retirement. Maynard was a life-long member of Christ Temple Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent, and Chairman of the Deacon Board. Maynard had a special relationship with his grandsons. He taught them invaluable life lessons that have shaped the men they are today. He had a natural affection for others and was well known for offering a hand-up when the storms of life left someone battered and bruised. His love for riding Harley's took him on many once in a lifetime adventures earlier in life. Maynard never met a stranger and the impression he left on the lives and hearts of those who knew and loved him will not be soon forgotten and his absence will be deeply felt.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Elsie Moore Mason Fleshman, beloved daughters; Cecilia (Charlie) Wright, Huddy KY, Cecile Wright, Williamson, WV, and Millicent C. Fleshman; step-daughters, Angela (Ed) Watkins, Columbus, OH, Trena Carr, Parkersburg, WV; brother Isaac Fleshman, Youngstown, OH along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Maynard will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 6 - 8 PM at Christ Temple Church, Williamson, WV. His funeral will follow there on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 11 AM with Elder Thomas Moore officiating with his immediate family and friends only. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV, with Jack Wright, Jonathan Wright, Perry C. Wright II and Daniel Wright serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be be his friends and Deacons of the church. Belfry Chapter #141 Disabled American Veterans will conduct military graveside services. Due to COVID-19 face masks are required and social distancing will be enforced. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry is serving the Fleshman family.
