Margie was born March 5, 1928 in Evansville to the late Clarence and Bessie (Howard) Hardy. She was a 1945 graduate of FJ Reitz High School and spent most of her working career at Auto and Electric Service Company as a bookkeeper.
Margie married Edgar Parker on November 6, 1948. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching them various card games and traveling to watch their sporting events. Margie also enjoyed camping in their RV, playing clabber and bowling.
Margie was an active 64-year member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church; she served as the financial secretary, on the Stewardship Board, Encouragers Seniors Group, quilters and Bible Studies. She loved her church.
Surviving Margie are two daughters, Linda (Richard) Clarner and Carol (Jim) Claybourn; five grandchildren, Heather (Jamie) Martin, Gary (Juli) Clarner, Janie (Ryan) Zimmerman, J.P. (Katie) Claybourn, Brian (Keri) Claybourn; six great grandchildren, Nick (Ireland) Martin, Katelyn (Nicholas) Torres, Jacob (Cheyanne) Zimmerman, James Zimmerman, Henry Clarner and Lily Clarner and three great grandchildren, Blake Martin, Parker Claybourn and Pierce Claybourn.
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Edgar R. Parker in 1998; by a sister, Mildred Albrecht and by two brothers, Carl and Clyde Hardy.
Due to the pandemic, visitation and funeral services will be private.
