Alvin Louis Johns was born 8 October 1927 to Parents Anton Alexander Johns and Frances Katerine Valentine in Iron Mountain Michigan, Dickinson County. He was the 5th of a total of 9 children born to the couple. He , along with his family are listed in the 1930 federal census, at age 3, Living with the family in Kingsford Township Michigan. From a personal interview dated 6 December 2008, he stated that he served in the U.S Military in the Navy during WW2, enlisting in July 1944, with the rank of Seaman First Class, serving in the South Pacific Campain and honorabily discharged in July 1946. After of which he and his brother in law, Doil Dale Oglesby served time in the Honor Guard.

He met, and later married his life long partner and love of his life, Carol Mae Dauzy, whom he married on 20 June 1952. The lived for a time in Toledo Ohio, where they Two Children, a Baby son, that they lost shortly after birth and another son, Robert Anton Johns that they lost just a month after birth in 1954, both buried in Toledo Ohio. They then moved back and settled in Iron Mountain Michigan, where they were blessed with two more children, Alvin Louis Jr, and Cheryl Mae. They later in LIfe moved to Nagunee Michigan, Marquette County where they settled and remained for the rest of their lives together. He and wife Carol had celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in June 2020. He will always be remembered by the family and friends as being a very sweet and Loving and caring man, that would do anything in his power to help another. A Loving husband and Father, Grandfather and Uncle to many. Burial arrangements in process.
