An often-sung lyric in the life of Sarah Lynne Coslett-Edwards, “Please don’t take my sunshine away” is the family’s lament after learning of her unexpected death on January 4. Age 30 was far too young for this light to be extinguished; the world is diminished by her absence.

Sarah’s circle of friends was broad and inclusive.

Known for her animated humor, mischievous smile, and ready laughter, she was a joy to be around. During all three of her years at Bullard High School, her peers elected her as Class Clown.

Although Sarah spent the majority of her school-age years in Bullard, her education began and ended in Jacksonville—spanning from Pre-K at Happy Days Christian School with Miss Barbara to her 2008 graduation from Jacksonville High School.

Sarah’s big heart and caring for others extended beyond people as she was always rescuing dogs, kittens, and other animals.

When she was little, she wanted a pet so badly that she adopted some doodle bugs from Granny’s flower bed.

Sarah valued creativity and self-expression. Her drawing skills were advanced. Her hair and makeup could range from Ivory-girl natural to Hollywood dramatic. Her numerous tattoo selections represented images important to her.

In the musical arena, Sarah’s guitar ability complemented her vocal talent—her strong musical instincts enabled her to enjoy playing a variety of instruments. Her favorite band was Tool, whose music inspired her. Attending their recent concert was a bucket-list item.

Sarah took on the role of Mom in 2010 with the birth of her daughter, Eisley Edwards. Little sister Emily Moore arrived in 2015. Through many changes and challenges, she always loved her girls.

In 2019 Sarah enrolled in Reconnect, a residential substance-abuse rehabilitation program at The Salvation Army Center of Hope in Tyler. Completing this program provided many positive changes in Sarah’s life, including meeting Maegan.

Bruce Watson from Reconnect will lead Sarah’s celebration of life, to be held Friday, January 15, at Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Visitation with family will begin at 1:00, and the service will start at 2:00.

Pallbearers will be Halston Coslett, Steven Coslett, Jeffrey Edwards, Brad Green, Michael Moore, and Josh Starkey.

The many survivors who will cherish memories of Sarah include partner Maegan Campbell of Jacksonville; daughter Eisley Edwards and her father Jeffrey Edwards of Gallatin; daughter Emily Moore and her father Michael Moore of Jacksonville; mother Melissa Arnold of Jacksonville; father Toby Coslett of Grandbury; brother Halston Coslett and wife Jessica of Bullard; sisters Ariel Coslett of Texarkana and Allyson Jacobs of Jacksonville; grandparents Lynne Orr of Jacksonville, Bill Coslett of Jacksonville, and Geri Goodwin of Alto.

Preceded in death by her “Pawpaw” Beall Orr of Jacksonville,

Sarah will be laid to rest by him at Resthaven Cemetery in a private family ceremony to be held later.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your supporting the Salvation Army (designate “Reconnect”).
