OBITUARY

Juanita A. Adams (Sam), passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton, Iowa. Juanita was born on June 2, 1939 in Nebraska to Percy and Viola (Hansen) Andersen. She was raised and went to school in Nebraska.

On December 19, 1963, she was united in marriage to James J. Adams (J.J.) in Chariton, Iowa. To this union were born four children, Bryant, James, Justin and Kathy. Juanita and J.J. lived and raised their children in Chariton, Iowa.

Juanita was an avid reader and enjoyed going to play Bingo with her friends. Juanita and her husband loved to dance whether it was at the Eagle's Club where they were involved for many years, or at home in the kitchen. She was always happy when her grandchildren visited. She loved playing with them whether it was cards, a board game, or just getting down on the floor with them in a pile of toys .

Juanita was an exceptional cook. If she knew you were coming you could bet she would make your favorite meal or bake something special. Most of all Juanita loved her family. She loved being a wife, a mother and grandmother. She was always there to listen and give support or a hug that somehow made everything better.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Viola (Hansen) Andersen; husband, James J. Adams; daughter, Regina Taylor; brothers, Art Andersen and Walt Andersen.

She is survived by her children, Bryant Adams of Buffalo City, WI, James W. Adams of Chariton, Iowa, Justin Adams of Chariton, Iowa, Kathy Alvarez of Albia, Iowa, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Shirley Beutler of Norfolk, NE, and Violet Cherington of Norfolk, NE.
