Joseph William Wood Sr., 77, of Linn, Mo., formerly of Owensville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at General Baptist Nursing Home of Linn.

He was born Dec. 14, 1943, to Joseph Leland and Sophie Josephine (Frey) Wood in Eldon.

Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing and training and riding horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Sophie Wood and brothers, Jinx, Darrell, Richard and Jess Wood.

He is survived by his children, Connie McKee and husband Michael of Warrenton, Joe Wood and Cindy Hesemann of Linn, Bill Wood and wife Cheryl, Sam Wood and Gary Wood all of Chamois and Tom Wood and wife Lorinna of Strafford; brother, Tim Wood and wife Margie of Owensville; and 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 14 from 10-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Barb Zastrow officiating. Burial will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens.
