Donald Louis “Rusty” Dennis, age 88, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on January 11, 2021, at Life Care Center of Carrollton, Carrollton, Missouri.

Rusty was born the son of Charles R. and Sarah S. (Guilford) Dennis on March 8, 1932, in Livingston, Missouri. He attended Hale School, Hale, Missouri. Rusty worked as a Boilermaker for Local 83, in Kansas City, Missouri, for over 40 years. He was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church, Hale, Missouri. He was also a member of the Hale Masonic Lodge. Rusty enjoyed buying and selling horses, farming, dancing, and flying his airplane.

Survivors include one son, Mark Dennis and wife, Diane of Hale, Missouri; two daughters, Candiss Hart and husband, Larry of Hale, Missouri, and Penny Hutchison and husband, Randall of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Elliott of Independence, Missouri, and Donna Daniels of Independence, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law, Nelson Elliott.

Graveside services will be held at Hale Memory Gardens, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hale Library and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
