He was born on August 25, 1948 to the late W.C. and Robbie Jones in Clarksville, TN. He is survived by his sister, Lawanna Bowers and his brother, Jerry Jones and his wife Debbie. He married the love of his life, C.J. Jones, on December 30, 1994. Together they share four children: Kimberly Barrett, Troy Jones and his wife Tammy, Desiree Ashe and her husband Jami, Carl Ogg and his fiancé Hannah.
In addition to his parents, Barry is also preceded in death by his son-law, Tyler Barrett, and his brother-in-law, Jerry Bowers.
Barry is a graduate of Woodlawn High School. He worked as the Vice President of Excavating at Carbine & Associates. He worked in construction for most of his adult life. He was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church.
Barry enjoyed playing softball as pitcher in Clarksville and the surrounding areas. He enjoyed woodworking and the outdoors. He collected coins, marbles, and knives. He played the guitar and always knew the best jokes. He loved spending time enjoying his 13 grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Their favorite pastimes were playing with Pop’s antique toy collection and eating the delicious teacakes he made every Christmas.
Visitation for Barry Jones will be held on Thursday, January 14, from 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and on Friday, January 15, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 15, at 11:00 AM. Brother David Mackens will be officiating. Barry will be laid to rest following the service at Blooming Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Chris Bowers, Jami Ashe, Garrett Jensen, Alex Snider, Justin Robertson, and Keaton Jones.
