Dorothy Marie (Casto) Hunt, 87, of Ripley, WV, passed away January 10, 2021 in Ravenswood Care Center, following an extended illness.
She was born April 24, 1933 in Kenna, WV, a daughter of the late Perry Luster and Dellan Dessie (Hatcher) Casto. Her husbands, Clarven C. Price and Lawrence Alvin Hunt; brother, Rondus G. Casto; granddaughter, Nisa Hunt preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Ripley High School. She was a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a former dental assistant for J. Howard Smith in Ripley and a former employee of Landfried Insurance in Ripley. Dorothy, was a former employee of L.O. Hunt Store in Cottageville and worked in later years at Big R. Supermarket in Ripley in the baking department.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Stephen) Hyre of Ripley; sons, Brad (Mindy) of Morgantown and Bruce Hunt and Katina of Cottageville; sister, Evelyn Carpenter of Ripley; grandchildren, Stacy Hyre, Austin Butcher and Skye Hunt.
Service will be 6 p.m. ~ Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021 in the Plainview Cemetery, Kenna, WV. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service, Wednesday at the funeral home.
