Mildred Robertson Hicks, 86, of Fayetteville, NC died Saturday, January 9, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.
Born in Vance County she was the daughter of the late William Edgar Robertson and Lillie Mae Wright Robertson. She was the widow of the late William Robert Hicks.
Ms. Hicks was a long-time member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Henderson, NC.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held Thursday, January 14, at 1:00 p.m. at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Larry Zaky.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Hicks Hutchinson and Sandra Jeanette Hicks; one brother, William Edgar Robertson Jr. (Jane); one granddaughter, Lindsey Hutchinson Garner; and two great grandchildren, Austyn Garner and Braxton Garner. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jessie Mae R. Burnette; and one brother, James Melvin “Jimmy” Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Sandy Creek Baptist Church “Building Fund”, 1699 Weldon's Mill Rd., Henderson, NC 27537.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, those planning to attend the service will be required to wear a face covering and are asked to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding social distancing.
