Mrs. Linda Carol Hayes Strickland, 66 of Mershon, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL.

Born in Alma, GA on May 21, 1954, she had lived in Bacon and Pierce Counties most of her life. Mrs. Strickland was a CNA and had worked for the Pierce County Nursing Home for several years. She loved her family, especially her grandbabies, loved to fish, and loved her church, New Life Assembly of God.

She was a daughter of the late Edward Hayes and Bonnie Fales Mercer. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Corine Thomas; and by two brothers, Jerry Hayes and Edwin “Buddy” Hayes.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Strickland of Mershon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda & Chet Edwards of Hazlehurst, Roxanne & John Tanner of Blackshear, and Towanna & Jerry Durrance of Patterson; a son and daughter-in-law, James & Tiffany Hayes of Baxley; a sister, Lorene Clemons of Callahan, FL; two brothers, Larry Hayes of Blackshear and Johnny (Gwen) Hayes of Hazlehurst; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Strickland were held Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock from New Life Assembly of God.

Interment was in the Meeks Cemetery in Coffee County at 2 o’clock.

Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
