Katherine Chambers, 87, formerly of Washington Township, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, in St. Joseph Villa, Baden. Born March 9, 1920, in North Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Swank) Buterbaugh, and had lived in the Kiski Valley most of her life. She had been a member of the Kiski Unity Free Methodist Church in Allegheny Township and enjoyed crocheting. Survivors include a son, Ron Chambers, of Washington Township; a daughter, Grace Pettner, of Ambridge; grandchildren, Renae Pettner, Katherine (Joseph) Drozdowski, Jeff (Mary) Weisend, Quentin (Heather) Pettner, Ronald Chambers Jr. and Cheryl Ann Chambers; and six great-grandchildren, Corey, Brittany, Kayla, Taylor, Ashley and Brandon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alix Chambers, in 1987. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
