He Served honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Harold J Ellison from 1967 to 1971, after which he worked in the heating and cooling industry. This experience lead him to start his own successful business, RC Mead Heating and Cooling. On August 28, 1982 he married Donna Bonach who survives him. Ron relished in the irony of life.
He had a special bond with each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his children Christopher (Lora) Benson and Tracey (Peter) Safran. Grandchildren Amanda (Michael Bennett) and Erik (Christina) Vogt, Lilly and Ethan Safran. Great-Grandchildren Aiden Greenough, Hank and Halle Bennett, Colton and Kailey Vogt. Also survived by brother Warren (the late Laurel) Mead, sisters Carla (Kevin) Dieterle, and Shirley Kosher. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends received Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 1:00- 6:00 PM at the Readshaw Funeral Home, Inc. 1503 Brownsville Road, Carrick. In keeping with the CDC guidelines, masks are to be worn and social distancing is to be practiced.
