Randy Boyd Springer was born on November 4, 1955 in Kennett, Missouri to William and Colleen (Easley) Springer. At a young age he moved to Akron, Iowa with his mother and his stepfather. Randy lived and attended school in Missouri while staying with his father and in Iowa while staying with his mother.

Randy was united in marriage to Elvena Henderson on November 4, 1972 in Missouri. Randy enlisted in the United States Army in 1974 and after he was honorably discharged, they moved to Akron, Iowa. Randy had a long career as a welder. He worked at the Sioux City Foundry, Load King, Masaba, and Higmans. He stopped welding due to his health and he then worked at Wal Mart in Le Mars for eight years before officially retiring. Randy enjoyed watching sports and he loved going fishing.

Randy is survived by his wife, Elvena; daughter, Robbin (Tim) Ruhland of Le Mars; father, William ‘Billy’ Springer of Missouri; stepmother, Barbara Junge; four half siblings: Curtis (Jane) Junge, Chris Junge, Angela Barnum, and Tammy Springer; and nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Randy is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Colleen and William Junge; and brother in law, Barney Barnum.
