Pawtucket – Michael D. Pierce, 78, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Providence.

A U.S. Army veteran, Michael served overseas during the Vietnam War.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edward and Hazel (MacKenzie) Pierce.

Michael worked as a quality control inspector at the former Fram Corporation, East Providence, for over thirty years. His passion for antiques led him to own and operate the former A King’s Ransom antique shop on Hope Street in Providence during the 1960’s and 70’s. Michael volunteered in the thrift shop at Park Place Congregational Church for many years. Among his many talents, he had a keen ability to live a life of elegance in style and was always willing to share his skilled knowledge of decorating. He stood 6’ 4” tall, leaving big shoes that no one else can ever fill. Michael was truly one-of-a-kind, who dearly loved his family and friends and enjoyed many celebratory functions with them.

He is survived by eleven nieces and nephews, Wendy Brunelle of Cumberland, John M. Sasnett of Pennsylvania, Dolly Quigley of Georgia, Deborah Ziegenhagen of California, Russell Mobley of Attleboro, MA, Donna Mobley Mohon of Colorado, Bonny Brassard of Plainville, MA, Kevin Mobley of Attleboro, MA, Edward Pierce of New Mexico, Lori Hilton and Cary Lee Pierce, both of South Carolina; his dear friend, William DeLuca of Cranston and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the brother of the late Dolina Mobley, Edward Pierce and Gloria Sasnett, and uncle of the late Gene Bryan Sasnett.

Interment in the family plot at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, was private.

Memorial donations in his memory to RI ASPCA, 186 Amaral St., East Providence, RI 02915 would be appreciated.
