MRS. RUBE SWALLOWS PASSES AWAY TUESDAY.
Effie J. Swallows, daughter of George and Tisha Greer, was born in Cobden, Ill., Sept. 19, 1881, and passed away at the family home July 21, 1953.
She was united in marriage to Reuben Swallows, Sept. 8, 1899. To this union ten children were born, Mr. Swallows and three children, Marita, Jessior and Harry, preceded her in death.
She is survived by the following: Cecil and Raymond of Bloomfield; Mrs. Bess Culbertson of Dexter; Mrs. May Latimer of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. Irene Gibson, Mrs. Ruth Bagby and Thomas, all of Flint, Mich.; one brother, Jess Greer of Bloomfield; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Wood of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two half sisters and many other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Chiles Funeral Home at 3:30 Thursday afternoon with interment in the Walker Cemetery.
